Brian has had a wide and varied career path that has included a number of roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors. This has included the following:

Business Development and Research Officer for East Belfast Enterprise, a Local Enterprise Agency providing advice and support to a range of SMEs, as well as developing and delivering programmes targeted at addressing identified needs.

IT Manager for a mailing house managing a team of 7 staff providing data capture, data management and print personalisation services.

Information Officer for the Belfast First Stop Business Shop, an initiative funded by Belfast City Council involving information provision, advice and signposting for SMEs based in the Council area as well as providing a support function to other organisations offering services to SMEs.

Business Consultant for Blueprint Development Consultancy, a business consultancy company providing services primarily to the public and community voluntary sectors.

This broad based experience provided the basis for Brian establishing Brian Stratford & Associates in 2005.
Brian holds a B.A. (Hons) in Modern History from Queen’s University, Belfast and a Master’s in Business Administration (with a specialism in Economic Development) from Ulster University. Brian has been an Associate member of the Institute of Consulting for more than 20 years.
Fuelled by his interest in the creative industries, Brian is a voluntary Director of The Black Box, a performance and arts venue based in Belfast. Brian also engages in a range of fundraising activities each year raising funds for several Northern Irish charities.
